Friendship evening

For just over one year, The Jewish Federation of Ottawa has been working with One Way Ministries to educate Christian pastors and their congregants about the antisemitism faced by the Jews of Ottawa. After a year of education, there was a request from these allied Christians to meet with the Jewish community and talk. There was a fervent request from the Jewish community to be brought into the conversation and help educate.

Antisemitism has plagued our community for thousands of years, but it has resurfaced harshly in Ottawa since October 7, 2023. These dedicated Christians want to meet our community and talk. They want to make friends and grow their interfaith network and their confidence to be able to stand against antisemitism. We can help them with this goal.

On November 24, 2024, at 7 pm, join 150 Christians and 150 Jews for conversation, food, and friendship. The room will be set up with tables of eight, at which four Christians and four Jews will be invited to sit down and get to know one another. We’ll provide the food-for-though and the food-for-dessert.

If you want to be a part of helping to empower our Christian community to join the fight against antisemitism, please register your interest for this event. Everyone who signs-up will be added to the wait list and registration confirmations will be sent out next week. We want to make sure the event is balanced.

After a year of building allyship through antisemitism education with the Christian community, this is the Jewish Community’s opportunity to show up for a face-to-face and heart-to-heart. Reach out to Jodi Green at jgreen@JewishOttawa.com with any questions or join the waitlist here.
